Jessica Peñaranda

Jessica Peñaranda is a Special Project Coordinator, providing direct services to sex workers and survivors of trafficking after arrest, documenting best practices and conducting trainings with court personnel and service providers. Jessica has been working on issues relating to violence against women for over 7 years. Prior to joining SWP, Jessica served as an intensive case manager with Safe Horizon's Anti-Trafficking Program, where she provided direct services for survivors of human trafficking and coordinated Voices of Hope, the program’s survivor-led advocacy group. She previously worked in Safe Horizon’s Domestic Violence Police Program as a case manager providing direct services to victims of domestic violence. In this role she also conducted outreach to the New York City Housing Authority and surrounding community around the issue of domestic violence. Jessica is passionate about universal human rights, victims’ rights, civil rights, labor rights, sex workers’ rights, and immigrant rights and protection. She enjoys being an agent of change in a global community, and partnering with sex workers and survivors as a service provider. She has a B.S. in Criminal Justice and Women and Gender Studies from the College of New Jersey and an M.S. in Global Affairs from NYU with a concentration in Human Rights and Humanitarian Assistance.
